Using Gmail? Take the security check to make sure you've got all the right settings and tools implemented. Most email providers will have this service if Gmail isn't your provider. Look to set multi-factor or 2-factor authentication. Check which apps have access to your email account. Check the latest activity on your account to make sure it was you.

If your email address has been compromised, don't panic. Make sure you have changed your password. If you use the same password across other accounts, change all your passwords and make each one unique. Sign up to be notified in future if your email address is compromised.
